Create a handcrafted card. There’s nothing better than a handmade card written from the heart! Have your students practice their writing skills with a handwritten note or poem. Bonus Tip: Include a handmade coupon, good for help with the dishes, a “one-time offer” to clean up toys, or just a free hug and kiss at the moment of mom’s choosing!

Turn your students into published authors. What’s better than a card about how much they love mom? A book of course! You can create an easy 10-page template labeling reasons one through ten to print and handout to your students, or you can allow them to use their creativity to imagine their own. Make a crafty classroom cookbook. Enlist the help of your students’ mothers by requesting a copy of their favorite recipe. Depending on the age level of your students, you can either ask moms to send the recipe in on a neatly typed piece of paper, or have your students type them up at school using a font of their choice. Then, have your tiny chefs illustrate their recipes however they choose. Collect and copy each page to create a booklet for every student to take home to mom. Top it all off with a creative cover, and voila! You’ve got a great handmade gift that’s sure to warm hearts and stovetops for years to come.
