Once again we find ourselves just a few days away from the final class meeting before the holiday break. Like we mentioned in our last blog, this is the time of year when students start to get out of their seats more than they should, which is why it is so important for teachers to plan activities that will allow them to use their enthusiasm in an appropriate way.
If coming up with activities to keep students occupied for the remainder of the year has you overwhelmed, check out the following list of holiday classroom crafts for some inspiration; they’re suitable for all students, regardless of what holiday they celebrate!
1. Bookmark:
Are your students required to read a book over their holiday break? Have them decorate their own holiday bookmark to help them keep their place!
2. Gift Boxes:
For this holiday activity, ask students to bring in old shoe boxes that they no longer need. Then, provide them with arts and crafts materials such as construction paper and have them cover and decorate the box in their own way! Hand made gifts are always appreciated, so hand made boxes will be no different!
3. Picture Frame:
Did your students take class pictures yet? Consider having them create their own holiday themed frame for their family members to put their picture in!
